It's Raining Men in the Pharma Blogosphere!

Men reign supreme in the health and pharma blogosphere!

Pharma Marketing Blog, PharmaGossip, World of DTC Marketing, Pharmalot, BrandweekNRX, Pharma Rag, Phoni Planet (Pharma Giles), EyeOnFDA, Drug Wonks, Question Authority with Dr. Peter Rost, HealthcareVOX, OnThePharm, The Healthcare Blog, TrustedMD, impactiviti, Clin Psych Blog, Medical Weblog, (did I leave any out?) ... All are run and written by MEN!

There are a couple of rare exceptions: On Pharma, which is written by Agnes Shanley and PharmaEdge, which has both male and female contributors.

Still, practically ALL of the leading pharma-focused blogs are written by men.

Why is that?

Inquiring minds want to know!

I can think of quite a few reasons but mostly related to the content on existing pharma blogs and the fact that women are scrambling to do alot of others things besides blogging! That said, I'm connecting with a number of female bloggers in health especially as relates to prevention and improving health outcomes. Stay tuned!

I am one of the inquiring minds that would like to know. I hope Kelly Connors will follow up soon!

P.S. Is anyone aware of any incentives that might be leveraged to alter this overwhelming trend?

Who else has discussed the issue?
